Your Hostess, Linda

My husband, Steven and I came to Connecticut in July 2009. Brought  up in the DC suburbs, we lived in Wisconsin for 2 years, Texas for 2        years and Alabama for 31 years.  Steven failed retirement and took a job here in Falls Village.  Horse Tale Farm is the perfect spot for us.  Steven rides his bike to work each day and I have room for my fiber arts studio.  Be sure to ask for a tour of my studio.  I may even let you fondle some of my yarn or poke through my bins of fabric.

There are so many art and music venues nearby, as well as the excitement of Lime Rock Race Track.  Someone once told me that this area is like Manhattan, only one block deep!  Just ask and I can fill you in on what is happening.  Or you can just enjoy the beauty of the area.  I love to hike the trails around here.  I know many easy and moderate hikes to lovely spots.

Living in the South for so long gave me the chance to pick up some of those famous Southern graces. (But I only speak Southern to real Southerners when it just glides on out.)  I had a large house in Alabama that served as the focal point for our community.  All that entertaining prepared me for meeting the interesting people who come to visit Horse Tale Farm.  I love to hear everyone's unique stories.

Alisa, who created and owns Horse Tale Farm, loved running it.  But, the call of her motorcycle was too strong.  She succumbed in July 2009 (perfect timing for us).  She is currently riding solo to the southern most tip of South America on an adventure of a lifetime.  You can follow her adventures through her blog at motoadventuregal.com.  Part of her ride is to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer Research.  Please feel free to make a donation on that site.

Come visit and tell me your Tale.
